Japan

Dear travelers,

On a long-haul flight, your bones hurt, your muscles literally want you to move. Restricted posture causes one side of the neck to hurt after an hour of restless sleep. The person behind you pushes his feet through the gap in the seats to place them on your armrest. A child simply cannot assess how much the front seat can wobble when it clings to it or kicks it with its feet. It feels like there is food, drinks and shopping opportunities every half an hour. After 8 hours at the latest it can hardly be endured.

I am currently on a plane and I have only worked 4 hours. 7 hours and 20 minutes of this agony are still ahead of me. Why are we doing this to ourselves? I do it to discover the world, to get to know new cultures, religions and people. I want to broaden my horizons a little more with each destination. There are many destinations I want to experience, but Japan was never on my travel list. My job took me to Japan, more precisely to Kobe.

So it made sense to extend the stay for a few days. Now on the return flight, I think I have seen far too little. Soon you can read about my experiences and impressions from the Kansai region of Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto. I hope that you will come to Japan from time to time.

Be inspired by the magazine until then.

Your Saskia
